Net: Wabash Valley Amateur Radio Association Net (Sunday, 9:00 PM ET, 146.685 MHz (PL 151.4); 1st Sunday of the month on 146.595 MHz, FM). All nets
License exams: 2nd Saturday monthly at 9:30 AM — Vigo County Public Library, 680 Poplar Street, Terre Haute, IN (the team also examines at the Dugger Hamfest at 9:00 AM on the last Saturday of February each year, and schedules special sessions as the need arises; licenses are normally filed with the FCC the next business day). Coordinated through the Laurel VEC. There is never any fee for taking an amateur radio examination.
Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins are accepted. You may pre-register up to midnight on the Thursday before a session.

Technical Session: 3rd Saturday monthly, 9:00 AM–12:00 noon — Salvation Army, 234 S 8th St, Terre Haute, IN (a workbench morning — group projects, help with your own, or just talk shop. The club says experienced members are there to Elmer new hams, and takes topic suggestions at techsessions@w9uuu.org).
Classes: The club teaches all three license classes online over Zoom every year: Technician over seven Tuesday evenings starting the day after Labor Day, General over nine starting the first Tuesday in November, and Amateur Extra over ten starting the first Tuesday in February. Sessions run 6:30 PM to no later than 9:00 PM, and the textbook is posted to you. It also runs a one-day workshop for the newly licensed on basic measurements, putting a station together and getting an antenna in the air. Registration opens 60 to 90 days before a class starts and closes a week before it, so that the book reaches you in time.
